We require a senior Practitioner to join our team in East London. To fill this position you must possess the following in terms of experience and knowledge 1. To undertake assessments of children in need in accordance with the Assessment Framework and Working Together. 2. To demonstrate consistently high standards of practice that put the needs of children at the forefront of all activity. 3. To evidence working in partnership with children and their families. 4. To operate a care management approach and micro commission services to meet children`s needs from an appropriate range of agencies and service providers. 5. To ensure all children for whom the post holder is responsible have a clear plan to promote their development, well being and protect them from harm. 6. To operate within a performance framework and to strive to improve personal performance and meet identified development targets. 7. To actively promote anti-discriminatory practice and the celebration of diversity. 8. To ensure a high standard of recording for all children. 9. To ensure the Departments procedures for managing risk of significant harm to children are followed at all times, and to seek appropriate advice and authorisation from managers. 10. To be responsible for accurately loading and updating the Departments database with children and families details*status etc. 11. To conduct care proceedings on behalf of the Department with appropriate guidance and authorisation. 12. To represent the Department in magistrates, County and High Courts. 13. To instruct solicitors, counsel and expert witnesses, in care proceedings with appropriate authorisation. 14. To use the Department`s electronic communications system, data base, spreadsheets, word processing packages and templates competently and promote the use of IT within the Team. 15. To follow Departmental procedures for the authorisation of care packages, placements, financial expenditure and accommodation of children. 16. To ensure reports and statement for court, case conferences and looked after reviews are prepared to a high standard, in time for deadlines and evidence involvement of children, families and carers 17.
